Sharjah Deputy Ruler Attends Rubu’ Qarn Music Centre Evaluations
Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, visited the Rubu’ Qarn Music Centre in the Mughaidir Suburb to witness student evaluation performances. The centre, which functions under the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, hosted the event to highlight the artistic growth of its members.
During the proceedings, the Deputy Ruler honored ballet students for their dedication and skill. He commended the high caliber of performances showcased, reinforcing the foundation’s strategic goal of nurturing youth talent and encouraging creative pursuits among the younger generation. Highlighting the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation’s ongoing commitment to fostering emerging youth talent and encouraging them to continually strive for excellence and creativity, he praised their outstanding performances and the remarkable talents nurtured through the centre.
Students performed a wide array of musical and artistic disciplines, including piano, violin, cello, oud, qanun, nay, guitar, and various percussion and wind instruments. The program also included vocal performances in both Western and Arabic styles, alongside modern presentations featuring computer-based musical technology.
The evaluation model represents a shift from traditional testing toward an interactive artistic experience. By performing before an audience, students gain confidence and learn to manage the psychological and technical demands of live shows. These sessions are intended to refine participants’ abilities while providing an accurate assessment of their technical progress under the guidance of expert instructors. This modern approach allows for a realistic evaluation of participants’ technical and performance levels while accounting for the pedagogical and psychological aspects of learning. Ultimately, it strengthens their ability to handle the demands of live performance and encourages consistent practice and continuous growth.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy to align the centre with ISO 21001, the international standard for management systems in educational organizations. By implementing periodic performance indicators, the centre aims to improve teaching methodologies and address specific training needs, fostering institutional development through systematic monitoring.
The current performances fall under a comprehensive 2026–2027 strategic plan that includes events such as “Rubu’ Qarn Celebrates Its Musical Family,” the “Rubu’ Qarn Talent Festival,” and “Rubu’ Qarn Members and Instructors Celebrate World Music Day.” These activities emphasize that public performance serves a higher purpose beyond entertainment by building leadership, character, and personal resilience. Furthermore, the initiative seeks to shift the prevailing perception of music — often viewed merely as a form of celebration or entertainment—by transforming these events into a gateway toward a higher purpose: the shaping of character.
Separately, at his office, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah presided over the swearing-in ceremony for three new judicial members: Judge Saeed Khalfan Rashid Al Shaali, Judge Ali Rashid Obaid Bin Hadeh Al Suwaidi, and Judge Dr. Suhail Ali Saeed Khalaf Al Naqbi.
During the ceremony, Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed congratulated the judges and underscored the vital role of the judicial system in maintaining community stability, protecting individual rights, and upholding the rule of law in the emirate.
