• Diplomatic efforts: Trump’s move comes after Saudi Arabia state media reported Prince Mohammed bin Salman pushed for a deescalation of tensions in the Middle East. No strikes were reported from either the Iranian or US side overnight into Sunday, following the announcement.

• Travel warning: The State Department cautioned Americans in the Middle East on Saturday, saying they should consider departing now. It also renewed warnings that those in the region should “be prepared for flight cancellations, periodic airspace closures, and potential travel disruptions.”
