Auqib Nabi Earns Early India Call-Up for Opening New Zealand ODIs

Right-arm pacer Auqib Nabi has been drafted into India’s roster for the opening three ODIs against New Zealand, which kick off on November 4. Originally slated to join the national side only for the fourth and fifth fixtures, the fast bowler will now remain with the touring team throughout the entire 50-over leg.
Roster Changes Follow Injury Setup
This squad adjustment follows the ruling out of Prasidh Krishna from the five-match series. Krishna, who continues his recovery from a hamstring issue, was unable to achieve the required match fitness in time. He needs further workload management before returning for the upcoming Test series. He wasn’t named in the revised squad for the second game that started on Saturday (October 31), having featured in the first unofficial Test against the hosts.
- Nabi was omitted from the T20I leg but stayed in New Zealand with the India A team.
- After playing in the first unofficial Test, he was left out of the revised squad for the second match starting October 31.
- The bowler has played one ODI so far, making his international debut against the West Indies in Guwahati last month.
Nabi’s inclusion brings an additional pace option into the mix for the visitors as they prepare for the series opener.
