Dubai Ride 2026: RTA Announces Major Road Closures

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has scheduled the temporary closure of three key traffic arteries for a duration of six and a half hours on Sunday, November 1.

These measures are being implemented to accommodate the Dubai Ride 2026 event, necessitating significant diversions for motorists throughout the morning.

Traffic Management and Road Closures

The restrictions will be enforced between 3:00 am and 9:30 am. Affected areas include

  • Sheikh Zayed Road: Stretches between the Trade Centre junction and Al Safa Bridge.
  • Lower Financial Centre Street: The segment connecting Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road.
  • Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard: Closure applied in one direction.

To assist with transit, officials have recommended four alternative routes: Zabeel Palace Street, Upper Financial Centre Street, Al Khail Road, and Al Wasl Road. Motorists are urged to plan their commutes ahead of time and strictly adhere to all posted signage and traffic guidance throughout the morning.

Public Transport Adjustments

To support event participants, the RTA is extending Dubai Metro operations for the day. While Dubai Metro will operate extended hours, starting at 3am and running until midnight to help participants travel to and from the event, the closures will be in effect from 3am to 9.30am.

Services will commence at 3:00 am and run continuously until midnight. Travelers intending to use the rail network are advised to ensure their nol cards maintain a minimum balance of Dh30 to cover both outward and return journeys.

The authority has also issued guidelines for passengers to help maintain order on the network. Commuters are encouraged to respect the personal space of others, allow exiting passengers to clear the trains before boarding, and ensure they do not obstruct movement within station platforms or near carriage entrances.
