Ishan Kishan Ruled Out of Third T20I Against New Zealand

Ishan Kishan will miss the third T20I against New Zealand on October 27, 2026, in Wellington as he continues his recovery from a low-grade right adductor strain. The injury, sustained during the series opener, previously kept the wicketkeeper-batter out of the second match. The Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed on Monday that while Kishan is making progress, he has not yet regained the required level of match fitness. According to the board has, Kishan is ‘recovering well’ at the moment.

The BCCI Medical Team is actively monitoring his condition. In his absence, Kumar Kushagra, who was brought in as a replacement for the second T20I, will retain his spot for the Wellington encounter. India currently holds a 2-0 lead in the five-match series, with the upcoming contest scheduled to take place at the Hnry Stadium.
